We're Having A Baby!!
Baby Walker
Due: July 9, 2004
November 20, 2003
Our first ultrasound.
Baby was 7 weeks, 1 day; 12mm.
December 22, 2003
We hear baby's heartbeat with the doppler.
Heartrate is 106 bpm.
Everything checks out fine.
Tina is sick with stomach problems and all-around yucky feeling.  Nauseous all day, on and off migraines and she can't stay awake for West Wing.

We've reached the second trimester!  Tina is feeling much better.  Nausea has mostly subsided and she has a bit more energy.

Level II Ultrasound.  The doctor measured and tested everything and found our baby to be in perfect health!  Furthermore, we couldn't wait till July to find out the sex....we're having a bouncing baby boy!!  He was very active during the ultrasound and the placenta is sitting right in front of the uterus, making it difficult to get a clear photo, but you can see the basics.  This photo shows the profile of his head and face and upper body.

I can now feel the baby move.  It started as a feeling of little bubbles in my lower stomach.  Now it feels like he's doing gymnastics!  It comes about every 2 - 3 hours and lasts about 5 minutes.  It's so cute, though he does sometimes wake me up at night!  I guess I better get used to that!

I've been feeling pretty good.  I have very bad heartburn and my back aches a lot, making it hard to sleep at night so I'm exhausted all through the day.  Other than that, I'm feeling fine.  The hot weather is starting in LA...it's been in the mid 90's this week!  I've had to move a fan into my office to keep me cool.  I don't know how I'm going to make it with the summer heat!

The baby is still kicking up a storm.  Jim has only been able to feel him once though.  We had an ultrasound on April 12.  Everything looks good.  We were supposed to get 4D video, but the baby had his hands and feet in the way, making it impossible for the doc to get a good view.  We didn't even get a photo.  I was SO disappointed.  But at least we know everything is functioning properly.  At my last check up the heartbeat was 144.  Baby is sitting VERY low.  I wonder if that means he'll want to come out early!!

We made it to the third trimester!!  All I can say it this: I'm so tired and uncomfortable.  I can't sleep at night and can't stay awake during the day.  I have doc visits every two weeks now.  It's always the same routine: doc listens to the heartbeat and tells me I'm ok after I go through my list of aches and pains.

We started the baby classes.  Our first one was Infant Safety and CPR.  Now we're scared out of our minds to bring a helpless baby into our home!   We'll be walking on eggshells till the kid gets married. Tonight we start the Lamaze.  It will be interesting to see how Jim deals with "THE VIDEO."

We finally moved into our new house.  It really took a lot out of me, even though I took it as easy as possible.  My feet will never be the same.  It's going to be a while before the house is completely in order.  I just don't have the energy to get it all fixed up.  We've been working on the baby's room.  We got all the furniture in and assembled the crib and glider.  It looks so adorable. Jim is turning into quite the handy man!  Now we're looking for an artist to paint a mural.  We can't wait to get it all done.

We're in the homestretch!  What a month it's turning out to be though.  Jim was in a car accident.  Then he caught a cold and brought it home to me.  My throat is nearly swollen shut and I'm going through almost 1 box of tissues per day.  No fever though - so the baby is ok.  I'm up all night tossing and turning and writhing in pain, then going to the bathroom every hour.  My feet hurt, by back hurts, and I'm just plain uncomfortable. I can't wait to get the baby out!!   The baby has started dropping.  We both noticed it, as well as a few poeple at work.  Let the countdown begin!!

The lamaze class is totally boring.  The teacher is nice, but she just does not know how to keep a class interested.  She reads off of an outline and repeats stuff that is in every pregnancy book we've read.  And we found that we are not at all comfortable practicing relaxtion techniques in a room full of strangers.  It's a waste of money, if you ask us.

Jim painted the walls in the nursery over Memorial Day weekend.  He sponged them with a light blue.  They look great!  We found an artist to do the mural.  She's hoping to have it finished by July 1.
